Best record stores in Adelaide

We’d like this to be on record. This is Adelaide’s best record shops. If you’re looking for vinyl stores in Adelaide then this list has you covered. Nothing quite feels like searching through crates of records to find a hidden gem that’s rare or has your favourite tunes on. The best spots for ‘crate digging’ as we call it include Adelaide’s best record stores and a great market stall you’ve probably not visited yet!

Modern Adelaide Vinyl Store

Streetlight Records is located on Shop 2/15 Vaughan Place in Adelaide City so it’s a perfect edition to your vinyl store crawl in the CBD. With books and vinyls this place is a really cool place to spend afew hours. WIth jazz, classical and even musical soundtracks this makes for not only a great vinyl store but an interesting first date spot in Adelaide.

Norwood Record Store

Big Star Records is located at 160 Magill Road in Norwood and has a great collection of vinyl all neatly organised and satisfying to go through. The shop boasts a huge array of vinyl albums for Adelaide record lovers so this had to be on our pick for best spots.

Myponga Market Record Stall

This is a real hidden gem. The Myponga Market is not well-known, especially by those who don’t live down south, so make the drive one weekend to the Myponga markets. Be sure to check if they’re open before you make the drive! There is a record market stall with a weird and wonderful collection of vinyls that you have to check out.

Parkside Vinyl Store

Wolfies Records is located on 92 Glen Osmond Road in Parkside and has new releases of vinyls in Adelaide but also some vinyl bargains like four for $20! You can also find some awesome clothing and music memorabilia that you won’t find anywhere else. There are new crates of vinyls coming in constantly so you’ll always have a reason to revisit this independant Adelaide record store.

Pulteney Street Record Store

Clarity Records is located on Pulteney Street in the Adelaide CBD and you’ll be sure to spend a few hours sinking yourself into their vast vinyl collection. I absolutely love the vibe of this store as it’s very modern but still has those cool vintage vibes. There is around 5000 records covering all types of genres so find a new vinyl and take it home for a spin.

Semaphore Record Vinyl Store

Semaphore is known for its great beach and bars, but now you can add its fantastic record store to the list as well. The store is called Mr V Music and the locals know the owner as “Mr V”. This store focuses on secondhand records and also CDs so its a great place to find some lesser known albums.

Warradale Record Store

The Record Store as its called is located in Warradale and is quite small but I had to include it on the list as it could be just what you’re looking for. With off-beat vinyls and albums you might not find anywhere else this is perfect to add to your vinyl crawl around Adelaide.

Adelaide City Record Store with Vinyls

Transition Records is located on 2 17 Young Street and is fairly new. The design is super clean and modern which I absolutely love! It’s like being in an Apple store that sells vinyls! They sell mainly techno and house so if they’re genres you love then this might just be the Adelaide vinyl store you’ve been looking for.
